The Peak Light 38 S is a mountaineering backpack designed by the brand Ortovox, ideal for tackling the most impressive glaciers, whether those surrounding the Dent Blanche or the famous Weisshorn in the Valais Alps. With a shorter back length, this backpack is aimed at smaller mountaineers. The Peak Light 38 S lives up to its name: its weight of 1,170 grams can indeed be reduced by 410 grams, as you can remove the lid, hip belt, some external attachment options, and the aluminum back structure.
The Peak Light 38 S offers incredible versatility, allowing you to use it for high-altitude hikes when fully equipped, or as an ultra-light climbing backpack (760 grams when stripped down) for multi-pitch climbing. A featherweight mountain backpack thanks to its nylon material, the Peak Light 38 S is also extremely robust and water-resistant, thanks to the polyurethane-coated nylon. Additionally, the new triangular construction of the top lid allows for different positions when the rope is attached. Thus, the removable top lid can be stored in the main compartment or removed entirely.
